Wonjin Plastic Surgery Clinic visits the '2013 Winter Travel Fair' in the Philippines
The '2013 Winter Travel Fair' was held at SM AURA located in Manila, Philippines. Wonjin Plastic Surgery took part in this event which was run by the Korea Travel Organization with the theme being visiting Korea for travel and tourism. Due to the Korean Wave, people worldwide have become aware of Korean skincare techniques, and increasing numbers of Filipinos are taking 'beauty tours' to Korea as well.
Wonjin Plastic Surgery Clinic members attended the event as representatives of Korean beauty medical tourism. Through this event, Wonjin Plastic Surgery was able to promote our affiliates Dermatology skin care clinic and Medinent (Permanent makeup) and the treatments available.
The Korean Wave has spread beyond neighbors China, Japan, and the effects are also felt in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, people in Europe, the Middle East and other areas globally know about Korea. In the Philippines specifically, K-POP, Korean dramas, and styles are very popular and there is also much interest in Korean aesthetic surgery.
Representative Park Wonjin of Wonjin Plastic Surgery stated, "we attended this event to spread awareness of Korea's superior medical services, techniques, as well as let people know that we have skin care and permanent makeup services/treatments. We wanted to share our knowledge of plastic surgery to local Filipinos. In addition, since the climate is very warm and humid most Filipinos tend to have large pores, and due to exposure to ultraviolet rays tend to have darker features and fine line wrinkles. As a result, there are many people worried about the state of their skin, and many are interested in permanent makeup procedures. We see the Philippines as a great potential market."
A clinic representative commented, "recently the members of the Filipino TV program 'Matanglawin' shown on Filipino television channel ABS-CBN visited Wonjin Plastic Surgery to film us. On their visit to Korea, they mentioned they could not make an episode about Korea without including plastic surgery and filmed Wonjin as the representative Korean plastic surgery clinic. More and more Filipinos are interested in Koreans especially for our fairer and whiter skin.
