Precautions before Plastic Surgery
1) Fasting
The fasting time differs based on the type of anesthesia that the patient will go through. For local anesthesia, it is recommended to fast 3 hours before the surgery and for general anesthesia, 6 hours before the surgery. If the patient is feeling too cold, it is recommended to postpone the surgery because serious flu can cause sore throat after the anesthesia and even pneumonia. If the patient has any other disease aside from the flu, he/she must inform the medical staff for safe surgery outcomes.
