When the horizontal width of the eyes make up 39% of the total facial width they are the most ideal. For vertical length of the eyes, the number 42 comes to mind. It is said that when vertical lengths of the eyes are combined, resulting in a ratio of 42% facial width, they are most beautiful. 

The vertical eye height refers to the longest length when the eyes are in a naturally open state. The golden ratio for eyelid plastic surgery is an objective viewpoint, and while it can be referenced, plastic surgery experts agree it should not be the only determining factor for beautiful eyes.
