BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY IN WONJIN:
Is it possible to breastfeed after breast surgery?

For women, breast is a main part of female body that represents the femininity.
Mostly, the size of Asian women are small compare to Western women, but these days many of them are striving to have bigger and fuller breast.

Often, many women with small breast are considering having breast implant augmentation surgery, but very concerned about the possibility for breastfeeding and the risk of capsular contracture.

Breast Feeding

Wonjin mentioned, “After giving birth, breast continually becomes hard and soft while breastfeeding. That’s why the breast loses elasticity and becomes saggy. However, breastfeeding after breast augmentation surgery is absolutely possible. The process of breast becoming hard and soft is the expansion and contraction of breast tissue which is above the breast implant.  Of course, long term breastfeeding may cause the breast to lose the firmness, but about 3 months of breastfeeding is fine.

Also, Wonjin said, “Capsular contracture occurs when the capsule that surrounds the implant becomes abnormally thicker and becomes contract; follow by change of shape, hardening, and pain. Recently, the textured implant is being commonly used, which prevents the risk and does not require any massage, but still can expect better result. If capsular contracture does occur, a revision surgery is possible by completely removing the capsule formed around the implant and replace with new implant or change the position of the implant.”
