Yeats, a poet, once mentioned the dimples as a ‘mistake of an angel’. As you can feel in his expression, those little dents on both cheeks can add more loveliness and beauty in a smile. If you weren’t born with one, you can create natural dimples as if they’re yours, through dimple surgery.

Actually, dimples are created due to the adhesion of skin and a portion of muscle. Even if you had them since birth, they can get fainter as you gain fats on cheeks or muscle stretch. Dimple surgery lets you gain dimples on preferred areas. It is a procedure which makes connective tissues in between the facial muscle and skin. Diimples can be classified into 4 different types according to shapes and area; long dimples, indian dimples, lip corner dimples, cheek dimples.

1. Long dimples:

4. Cheek dimples:

- It’s the most common type of dimples for a young, cute and soft impression.

For most cases, dimples are usually designed on the point where lip corner and eye corners meet, but not all people look good with dimples on this location. The design should be made after considering the shape and the face contour, and therefore, although it is a simple procedure with short surgery time, doctor’s designing know-how is necessary.
